2008 Parkrose Ride for Education
The 2008 RFE is proud to announce that we are going District Wide! What does this mean to you. Imagine a beautiful April morning on Earth Day Weekend. Friends and classmates from all (6) schools in the district are gathering in the Middle School parking lot where they are about to embark with their families and friends on a ride through the district to show case their support and also to share some quality time together.
To be a part of it go to www.parkrosemshs.org and register for the ride. Cost is $15.00 per adult and $10.00 per child. Register by March 1st 2008 and get a free event T-Shirt. There will be discount bike helmets there for a $5.00 donation to the Emanuel Trama Center. You can get a brand new certified helmet and have it fitted to you and your children.
This year based on the amount of participation / volunteers (p/v) percentage from each school will determine how much your schools Parent group will receive to spend on your children as they need it (p/v divided by # of students in school multiplied by 100 = percentage of p/v). It could be field trips, a party, planners, playground equipment, etc. The options are endless. The funds will be divided up as follows:
· 10% of funds will go to ride sponsor to cover expenses and start up money for the 2009 RFE
· 1st place based on p/v percentage = 25% of prize money and traveling RFE trophy
· 2nd place based on p/v percentage = 20% of prize money
· 3rd place based on p/v percentage = 15% of prize money
· 4th place based on p/v percentage = 13% of prize money
· 5th place based on p/v percentage = 10% of prize money
· 6th place based on p/v percentage = 07% of prize money
Everyone comes out winning.
Every school has students that cannot ride or participate in the event because they do not have a bike. This year the BTA is loaning us 50 bikes for those that want to ride in the event but do not have a bike. The only stipulation is they have to be accompanied by a supervising adult, parent or guardian on the route.
Come join us for this fun filled day and show your school spirit.
